Willie Nelson – Without a Song (CD) Concord Jazz but in '76Willie Nelson's relationship with the American Songbook runs as deep as his connection to outlaw country, and his interpretations of pop and jazz standards have always revealed the quiet, unhurried genius at the center of his phrasing. By 1990, Nelson had long since proved that a song belongs to whoever sings it with enough conviction, and his catalog of standards recordings stands as some of the most personal work of his career.
