When I got to the lake in below freezing temperatures the steam was rising from the lake

The look from this location can differ depending on the time of year as well as the weather so it is always a view I check when walking through the park

It takes a while to plow Trail Ridge Road and open it once again for the season as it tops out over 12

I watched as some of the evening aircraft landed

First Morning of 2012 in Denver Size:18"x24" I made a pre-sunrise tripThe start of a new year is usually marked by sleeping in late due to the celebration from the prior night heading into the early hours of January 1st. To start off 2012, I fought the urge to sleep in and woke up in time to capture the first sunrise over Denver. As I waited for the sun to rise it was obvious people were still heading home after a long night, however like myself they were treated to the clouds lighting this first morning of 2012.
