I was walking along the Embarcadero when I noticed the setting sun starting to go behind Coit Tower

and of course it is not the Spire

With my camera I captured some of the scene but then started some abstract pictures with the lights along the path and to the grand finale

Looking west the Rocky Mountains join the skyline in the distance

Having photographed the Independence Day show last year I knew the location I wanted to shoot from this year

Ballard Locks City Park I was walking along theHiram M. Chittenden Locks, or Ballard Locks in Seattle carry more boat traffic than other locks in the United States. On the morning I visited they had just started on a project on the large locks and thus they were fully drained. This allowed me to see a different view of the locks than normal with the various growth along the sides and gates fully visible.
