The lookout at Speer and Zuni in probably the most popular location to photograph the skyline of Denver

I quickly looked for a foreground element to add for this image and found a pair of floatplanes out at the Juneau International Airport to help frame the image on this September evening

Using the low light to my advantage I was able to use a slower shutter speed on my camera and capture the motion from the water in the image

Spring Snow at Sloans Lake Size:11"x14" The lookout at Speer andIt is not uncommon to see snow in the spring around Denver even going into May. This was one of those days when a light dusting of snow fell in Denver overnight greeted with clear skies in the morning. Getting close to the ground I focused on the grass an using a shallow depth of field put the trees in the background out of focus. This allows the viewer to have a sense of place but puts the attention on the snow in the fresh spring growth.
