Canadian Inuit Soapstone Carving of Kneeling Man southwest jewelry I have had two other

I have had two other bags like this

This is a great really old bag

The carving depicts a man

It has two large 8 pointed stars with 6 small crosses arranged along the outside edges

The simplicity of the triangle design and the thin bands make this an attractive basket

Canadian Inuit Soapstone Carving of Kneeling Man southwest jewelry I have had two otherThe carving depicts a man, kneeling, wearing a parka, and holding something between his outstretched hands. He has a questioning look on his face almost as if he wants to offer you the object in his hands if you want it. There is nothing angry or threatening in his face or stance. A very pleasing carving.
