The factory operated from Arthurton Road

and deep fryers line the left side

its tracks rusted silent and the weeds long since claiming the margins where visitors once waited

A Kamewa variable-pitch propeller gave the ship precise speed and manoeuvring control across some of Australia's most remote coastlines

the structure shows the age and condition you would expect from decades of salt water and minimal maintenance

Side Facade Type:Acrylic The factory operated from ArthurtonA side facade in Yubari, Hokkaido, its paint peeling in long strips under a flat grey sky. The building sits within a residential and commercial streetscape shaped as much by decades of cold winters as by the economics that emptied it. Snow load and seasons of freeze thaw have worked steadily on the unheated structure, lifting paint and fading what colour remains. Part of the Streetscapes of Yubari series.
