where most of Japan's metal tableware is produced

and the maker's attention shows in the way it holds a stem or sits alone on a shelf

this sake cup carries the marks of its making — the surface settles into subtle tones of grey and straw

Sometsuke Striped Soba Cup - Crafted By Jusen Kiln 202410_New Arrivals Tokushichi Kiln forms and paintsPainted entirely by hand, this soba cup carries the mark of a practiced brush the pattern applied one piece at a time, each stroke placed by feel as much as memory. No two pieces come out quite the same. Jusen Kiln forms and paints each soba cup by hand in Japan, working at a pace that allows every piece to be made individually. The result is a soba cup that carries the marks of its making never perfectly uniform, always consistent in character.
