The First 4th Size:XL Culture and Entertainment Memorial WalkThe tradition of commemorating July 4th was born shortly after our nation's founding. In 1783, the town of Salem hosted America's first official public celebration of independence. Featuring a program of patriotic music, a Moravian feast, and the ceremonial ringing of church bells, a jubilant new tradition was established. While July 4th events have evolved over the years, the holiday's local origins are well worth celebrating. 100% Airlume Cotton
