Balancing this is a single sleeve with a dramatic silk knotted fringe

I believe this dress to have been from or about the time period of her TV show (1953-61)

This dress was done in a fabulous and flattering shade of purple and is a fabulous example of his mastery

The dress has a V neck and long sleeves that each end in a pouf made out of a black silk satin that gives them an interesting finish

It is a beautiful example of the genius of Mr. de la Renta's work and his attention to detail. It has a beautiful elegance to it and is quite striking. This sense of refinement is a constant in Oscar's work and I particularly love these earlier examples of that aesthetic. You can see how many of the elements you see in pieces like this were carried forward
