This is an incredible gown that is completely covered in silver sequins

The duo behind the La Mendola label met in Rome in 1960 and started their business making dresses and selling them one by one

The slubbed silk adds texture and the color has a hint of pink - not fully conveyed here in these photos but very pretty in person

It been worked into an almost diamond or chevron pattern and the effect is really amazing

Silk from this period was some of the finest in the world and this one is no exception. The silk has a slight sheen to it and a is covered with a bold green, red and black checked plaid pattern that is a fantastic. The waist band is fitted and the cut skims over the hips and then at the hem has a wide 10" ruffle that gives it the perfect finish. Really pretty and chic. Excellent
