＜素材＞

伊勢崎銘仙の魅力は、「併用絣」によって成される独特な模様と発色の良さです。併用絣とは、たて糸に色柄をつけるだけではなく、よこ糸にもつける（捺染）、手ばた機でたてとよこの糸を1本1本併せて織る技法です。しかし、かつて盛んに生産されていたという銘仙も、現在は着物文化の縮小や後継者不足などを背景に銘仙業界自体が落ち込んでいます。
